Despite being gentle reptiles living on an all-ant diet, people have long called these lizards horny toads because of their stout, toad-like shape and blunt snouts. Their heads feature a fierce crown of sharp horns, making them look like miniature desert kings. The have pretty unique survival skills including inflating their body to look twice as big while hissing in anger, and also shoot streams of blood from the corners of their eyes to taste foul if found in the mouth of a canine predator.
