Imagine a towering, armored plant‑eater, 150 million years old, standing proudly with its tail raised like a shield and its back plates like a living mosaic of ancient art.
This piece represents the towering Stegosaurus that lived 150 million years ago that truly stood out in the Prehistoric World. This remarkably complete skeleton shows a plant‑eating, armored dinosaur with upright armor plates along its back and a spiked tail raised high, ready to defend. Its tail tipped with four large spikes, ready to swing at predators.
The rough bone surface was once covered in keratin, like reptilian scales, and Scientists are still uncovering how these plates were used — for display, recognition, or temperature control as well as how Stegosaurus grew over their lifetime. The Stegosaurus was a slow, heavy quadruped with a low, broad back and long hind legs, an important part of the Late Jurassic ecosystem, and its unique armor makes it one of the most recognizable iconic dinosaurs in the world.
Like a medieval knight in armor, but from a time before humans, Stegosaurus was both a defender and a statement of dominance.
This skeletal piece is made of polyresin and stands firmly on a mound with a felt lined underside.
